We provide expertise to clients but also support existing prime contractors with expertise to fill competency gaps in larger projects.
As a project management consultant (PMC), we take the full responsibility for an infrastructure project involving multiple procurement related activities.
This is not only a service for larger infrastructure projects, we also offer this service for smaller projects where there are complex interface issues involving multiple systems (e.g. design and build of Airport Operations Control Centre, Visual Control Rooms, Digital Towers, terminal projects, airside systems modernisation etc.).
Instead of a conventional approach of simply relying on our design and implementation oversight services, IBG takes responsibility for the subcontracting, delivery and transition to service of the solutions. This design and build approach substantially reduce our customers dependency on multiple procurements with consultants or technology partners. Through this approach we always have full control of the project critical path and all associated dependencies and ensure the clients satisfaction.
IBG can also offer financing backed by the Swedish Government or other investors as well as guarantees and financing backed by the Swedish export credit system and coordinated by Business Sweden.
A typical PMC project is characterised by us establishing a local project management office (PMO) with staff dedicated to managing the design, procurement and implementation of services and systems to reach specific project objectives. In our turnkey delivery solutions this is complemented by our team of technical specialists and senior expert consultants during supported by innovative analytical tools from our partners.

How we do it
The PMC process starts with a project brief by IBG’s senior core staff. Working closely with the client team to identify the scope and tangible deliverables to be provided. In this stage, it is not only valuable to identify what will be done, but also to clearly identify what lies outside the scope of the project, which minimizes possible future misunderstandings.
Following scope identification, our core team analyzes the key numbers of the business case, enabling transparent understanding of the reasoning behind the scope, including deliverable cost/benefit analysis and return on investment assumptions, allowing the client full confidence in their choices behind the project scope and deliverables, and ensuring that the strategic project objectives are efficiently reached.
Lastly before mobilization, IBG analyses the project risks. What could stop us from succeeding? All project risks get prioritized using a probability and impact filter, measuring the likelihood of the risk affecting the project, and the negative impact it would have. Prevention and mitigation strategies and actions are formulated, ensuring project success despite existing risks.
Following the creation of the project brief, IBG prepares a project budget and provides customers with a full project team sourced from a large pool of world leading subject matter experts and project managers. Whether it is advanced air mobility, airspace design, equipment needs, training and personnel, or capacity increases, IBG mobilizes the most experienced teams in the world, specifically tailored for the project scope, often exceeding 600 years of combined subject matter experience.
A Project Management Consultant is responsible for scheduling and managing each project. The PMC manager needs to decide the budget, assign Employees or subcontractors and their duties to complete the job whilst overseeing the safety of workers and their rights.
